WHAT IS NATURAL GAS?
Natural gas exists in deep underground fields and it forms an important source of energy that is safe, economic and environment-friendly. Old civilizations recognized natural gas; for example, the Chinese used it in the fifth century BC for extracting salt from the sea. Its usage remained till today; as the United Kingdom was the first to use natural gas in an organized way for street lighting in 1785, then several European countries along with USA followed it. The technological and industrial development in the world today led to increasing usages of the natural gas, increasing the extracted quantities, and facilitating potentials and quality of natural gas transportation through transportation means, which led to spreading its usage around the world.
Natural gas is used in several fields such as: fuel for vehicles, chemical raw material for manufacturing plastics and other commercially-important organic chemicals, as well as power-generation, domestic usages, fertilizers and others.
