ADC and Fajr sign an agreement to transport and supply Natural Gas to Quweira industrial area

Jordanian Egyptian Fajr for Natural Gas Transmission and Supply represented by Eng. Fouad Rashad - CEO, and Aqaba Development Company, represented by Mr. Hussein Al-Safadi - CEO, signed an agreement to implement and operate a connection point and a Pressure Reduction Metering Station to supply Quweira industrial city with natural gas.

The signing was witnessed by the Jordanian Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, Dr. Saleh Al Kharabsheh, and the Egyptian Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Eng. Tareq El Mulla, and the Chairman of the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority, Mr. Nayef Al-Fayez, as the facilities that will be implemented are considered to be the start of the natural gas network connection to many factories within Aqaba city, which contributes to reduce costs for factories and increasing their return on investment. This project will be the first of its kind in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, as the industrial city of Quweira is one of the most important industrial areas in Aqaba to attract investments and various factories, especially after establishing the natural gas infrastructure.

The project consists of an outlet on the main natural gas pipeline through a Hot Tapping system to ensure feeding the industrial city from the nearest point of the natural gas network, in addition to a Pressure Reduction Metering Station with a capacity of 30 thousand Cubic meters / hour extendable to two phases, the first to reach 60 thousand cubic meters / hour and the second to reach 90 thousand meters /hour, in order to serve the future industrial expansions in the area, in addition to the natural gas filtration system, heating system, and measurement system using meters, control systems, and analysis of gas components.
